Use for the cultivation of fastidious and non fastidious microorganisms, including
aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, from a variety of clinical and non clinical
specimens. It is particularly useful for culturing streptococci, pneumococci, and
meningococci. It is also used for the preparation of inocula for use in antimicrobial
susceptibility tests, and as a base for blood culture.
